Miriam’s House

... designed to end the cycle of homelessness, serves homeless single women or mothers and their children.

Not a shelter, Miriam’s House seeks to be preventative in nature for the children and rehabilitative for the adults. It is hoped that by offering a comprehensive program, individuals may be empowered to live independently.

Are you looking to volunteer at Miriam’s House?


Currently we are seeking volunteers to help with the following:

 

Workshop Facilitators in the areas of:

    – Substance Abuse

    – Financial Literacy

    – Coping Skills

    – Cooking Skills

    – Interview Skills

    – Parenting

    – Health & Nutrition

    – Time Management

 **60 minute workshop on a weekend or evening

 

Child Care Provider

    – Assist Children’s Program Coordinator on Monday evenings from 6:00PM- 8:00PM

 

Painting (indoors)

A drive to collect items that women would need for their new homes (I.e. a laundry basket full of cleaning supplies, shower curtain, towels, etc)

A Mother’s Day luncheon for all of the women in May

A Saturday activity for the children

Remodeling a bedroom with new linens, paint, curtains, etc
