Miriam’s House

... designed to end the cycle of homelessness, serves homeless single women or mothers and their children.

Not a shelter, Miriam’s House seeks to be preventative in nature for the children and rehabilitative for the adults. It is hoped that by offering a comprehensive program, individuals may be empowered to live independently.

The Magnolia Street Boutique is an incentive “store” where Miriam’s House residents shop for needed personal items. The residents spend incentive points, which they earn by achieving goals in the areas of employment, money management, parenting and other independent living skills.

The following is a list of needed store items:

Diapers and Baby Wipes

Postage Stamps

Feminine Hygiene Products

Gift Cards (Wal-Mart, CVS, Target, Kroger, Food Lion)

Batteries (AAA, AA, C, D)

Toiletry items such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap and deodorant

Laundry Detergent

Additionally, Miriam’s House is always in need of household items that assist with the day to day running of the house.

These items include:

-Twin sheet sets, blankets and pillows

-Twin plastic mattress covers

-Shower liners and bathroom rugs

-Plastic food storage containers

-Bath and hand towels

-Kitchen items such as cups, eating utensils, and cookware

-Paper products such as towels and toilet paper

-Non perishable food items
